Goggle Mask Guy

Our favorite superhero, Goggle Mask Guy, has been spotted at the local swimming pool.

Rumor is, that he was on a mission to capture the slippery Professor Penguin.

He was also spotted by surveillance cameras at the local Albertson's, obviously on the lookout for any vegetables gone bad.

A fellow swimmer, Grayson Hemmelgarn, was questioned about what he knew about Goggle Mask Guy's appearance at the pool.

He just smiled and said, "I don't know who he is, but he sure is handsome."

Lizards

For the past month, lizard hunting has become a favorite pastime for Emily and Grayson.

On a sunny afternoons, they can be seen sneaking up on unsuspecting lizards with a nets in their hands.

So far, the lizards have proven too quick for them.

That is until they found this scaly fellow sunning himself on the driveway.

He was quickly placed in an old aquarium, and did not look pleased with his new accommodations.

Lucky for him, we have a catch and release policy and he was soon on his way.

Easter Egg Hunt

Grayson leads the charge to find the Easter eggs.

He is getting to be a top notch egg hunter.

I think he has a nose for chocolate.

Last year, Emily bragged that it was too easy to find the eggs.

This year, Jeff had a few tricks up his sleeve. (Yes, she did manage to find this one)

After a marathon 30 minute of searching, she finds her last egg.

This Easter egg hunt was not for wimps

Nana was there to congratulate Emily and to see if the great egg hunter had a few pieces of candy to spare.

Grandpa listened as Cole discussed the finer points of his chewy toy.

Cannonball!

"Cannonball!"

That was what Grayson yelled as he was swinging from our tree swing.

Look out Tarzan, there's a new king of the jungle.

The Egg Hunter

Eager for Easter, Grayson hones his egg hunting skills at Irvine Park.

He looks pretty pleased with his latest catch.

His courage is sure to be tested when he meets up with the big chick that is hatching out of this egg.

CHEEP CHEEP!

Wise Eyes

At only 6 months old, Cole sometimes has the gaze of a wise old man.

Wow, I wish I knew what thoughts were going on behind those beautiful blue eyes.

Prince Oley's Throne

The time has come for Prince Coley Oley to have a proper place at the table.

He loves his new high chair and is quite the enthusiastic eater. So far, he enjoys rice cereal, peas and green beans.

He has also found the bowls can be yummy too.

Slip 'n Slide

Nothing says springtime fun like having your children hurl themselves down a piece of plastic while you hose them down.

Long live the Slip and Slide!

Table Centerpiece

Ever feel like your table setting needs a little excitement?

Flower arrangements can be so...quiet.

You really haven't experienced fine dining until you have had a baby as your table centerpiece.
They are great for entertaining siblings. Grayson was laughing the entire meal.

Besides, how many flower arrangements make you want to reach out and nibble on them?

I recommend the ears, they are mighty tasty.

Camp Snoopy Run

This is the famous racing team, Dashin' Dobbles and Racin' Grayson before their first big 1k run at Camp Snoopy.

There's pure excitement (and a bit of silliness) on those faces.

Both runners crossed the finish line with proud smiles and rosy cheeks.

Racin' Grayson shared his winning strategy with me after the race. "I just said 'On your marks...get set...go!' and then I ran with lightening speed."

Parent's Night Out

What's this? Jeff and Heather out to dinner? Where are the kids?

This sanity saving adult moment was brought to you by Nana and Grandpa. For the third weekend in a row they have cheerfully watched our three wonderful children while we enjoyed some fine dining.

We also want to say "thank you" to Drew and Jen, who agreed to go out at the decidedly uncool hour of 5:30 so we could be home for the kids bedtime.

LCBs

In Junior High I was fortunate enough to be part of a group of 6 close friends. We spent lots of time hanging out on our friend's porch, commenting on other students at school. This lead someone in the group to declare that we were "nothing but lawn chair bitches". Well, the name stuck and thankfully so did the friends. We recently spent and afternoon together catching up, and yes, there was some bitching.

Choo Choo Chun Chin

Meet Chun Chin, Master of Ancient Chinese Kah-rah-tay. He demonstrates his powerful kicks and karate chops on the changing table each day. We are his loyal followers.

Today Chun Chin rides on the Choo Choo at Irvine Park.

Pirate Park

The dreaded pirate Grayson, guards his treasure at pirate park. Notice the fearsome pirate growl.

Ready to defend his ship, the brave Captain Cole gives the order to fire the cannons.

Pirate Grayson is sent down the gang slide and Captain Cole gazes thoughtfully across the horizon.

The End.

Honors

The award for honor roll performance in a fourth grade classroom goes to . . . Emily Schwartz!

Emily accepted her award with her producer, Mrs. Moore, and director, Ms. Holter.

Afterwards, she stopped to sign autographs and take pictures with her adoring fans.

Good Times with Friends

Our good friends Becky and Liam came over for an afternoon of fun and pizza.

Grayson was so excited. He just loves having friends over.

Emily offers up one of her mush pies. Complete with sand and sea shells. Yummy!

Grayson shows us how to make the good times roll.

M - I - C - K - E - Y

Can you really get too much of a good thing? We certainly hope not, because we just bought annual passes to Disneyland.

This last Wednesday, when Emily got out of school early, we headed out for our first trip.

Emily was quickly greeted by Chip and Dale. Grayson kept his distance. I can't say I blame him. There is something disturbing about 5 foot chipmunks.

And what's this? No lines? Disneyland midweek rocks!

Even better, Grayson says he is going to eat lots of fruits and vegetables, so he can get tall enough to ride Big Thunder.

Bookworms

Another rainy day, and today we are at the library.

After picking out a nice selection of books, Grayson plays a game on the computer.

He looks like he know what he is doing. Pretty soon, he will be giving Nana tech support.

Always flexible, Cole takes his afternoon nap in his comfy baby wrap.

Getting Crafty

I hope it stops raining soon, because I am running out of inside activities.

Today we went to Color Me Mine, where Emily and Grayson painted ceramic pieces.

Dad and Cole came along as artist assistants.

Emily happily painted her cat jewelry box.

Grayson seemed to be looking to the heavens for inspiration on his train bank.

Now, that's a cool bank.

Don't Eat the Baby

My MOMS Club friend got another picture of me at our latest outing. I was trying on her mei tai, or back carrier.

I look like I am either having a wonderful time or I am about to eat the baby.
