D is for...

Each week the family helps Cole learn about a letter of the alphabet.
The letter D is our favorite so far.
D is for donuts, sweet and delicious.
D is for ducks, who eagerly eat crackers the boys feed them.
I can't wait to find out what other fun the rest of the alphabet holds.

Getting Ready for Christmas

Santa is coming!
Time to curl up with good books,
 decorate the Christmas tree,

build gingerbread houses that hold as much candy as possible,
visit Santa with our wish lists,
and ride his Christmas train.
Looks like we are just about ready.  Now it's time to wait for the big night.

Homeschool Means...

Homeschool means that big brother can be an art teacher.
Homeschool means that sometimes lessons can be done in nothing but underwear.

Creativity

We got a chance to enjoy Emily's artistic side when she was hanging out one afternoon with the boys and a bucket of sidewalk chalk.

Texas

Dad took Grayson on a birthday trip to Texas.  They stayed with friends in Austin.
Of course they had to visit the capital building.

 They went to several museums.
Dad also took Grayson to see where some of his ancestors once lived.

Bower's Cultural Kidseum

Cole is doing his best to ward off the evil spirits.
Emily and Lauren trying on some of the cool masks.

 Trying on the costumes.
Emily may have a future in costume design.
Grayson shows what it may have looked like if Benjamin Franklin's experiments went wrong.

Grayson turns 7

Happy Birthday Grayson!
Cole is helped to bake the cake.  Looks like he did a bit of taste testing.
Grayson is pleased to receive a delivery from FedEx.
The boys enjoy making music on Grayson's giant piano.

Preschool Pumpkin Patch

Cole's preschool teachers sure know how to put on a cool little pumpkin patch.  We all had a great time picking out this years pumpkins.

Happy Birthday Cole

Cole had quite the week long birthday celebration.
On Monday he brought treats to school to share with his classmates.
On Tuesday he woke up to presents.
By Tuesday afternoon he was beginning a three night camping trip to Crystal Cove with Mom, Dad and Grayson.

Finally on Saturday, some of his classmates came over to wish him a happy birthday and play a few games.

Balboa Beach

It isn't a proper Southern California Summer without several trips to the beach.  Today we checked out Balboa.   The boys stayed busy trying to get sand in every nook and cranny of their bodies.
Emily played it cool on the blanket with her headphones.
Cole couldn't stop laughing while trying to convince us that he had lost his legs and hands.  What a little trickster.
