Balboa Beach

It isn't a proper Southern California Summer without several trips to the beach.  Today we checked out Balboa.   The boys stayed busy trying to get sand in every nook and cranny of their bodies.
Emily played it cool on the blanket with her headphones.
Cole couldn't stop laughing while trying to convince us that he had lost his legs and hands.  What a little trickster.

Eisenhower Park

Hoping to meet some new homeschooling friends, the boys and I visited a park that we hadn't been to in several years.  It was a beautiful place with lots of shady paths, ponds and creeks.
Grayson took this great picture of one of the ponds.
To cool off afterwards, we headed to the frozen yogurt shop.  Cole ate his yogurt so quickly, it looks like he got a brain freeze.

Weekend with Nana and Grandpa

While Jeff and I were in San Francisco, the kids were enjoying a weekend with Nana and Grandpa.  Looks like they had a great time.

San Francisco

It was time for Jeff and I to have some grown up Summer fun.  Thanks to Nana and Grandpa, who took the kids for the weekend, we were able to get away to San Francisco.  We visited some of our old haunts and found a few new ones.

Discovery Science Center

Our Summer fun continued at the Discovery Science Center.
Cole's favorite section is the rockets.
Grayson enjoys the hockey simulations.  Here the boys tried their hands at being goalies.  Cole (bottom) blocked more pucks with his face mask than his hands, but both boys came out smiling.

Summer Fun

Tuesday was a trip to the pool.
 Grayson enjoyed riding the noodle.
Cole preferred to launch himself from the steps.
On Wednesday, Cole enjoyed a Little Gym class and then we headed to Ruby's for lunch.
After nap we headed to a nearby park to meet some friends.
The boys were excited to find some interesting "big kid" climbing structures.
